Job Description

We’re currently recruiting for aSenior Actuarial Analyst to join our multi-award-winning team who are responsible for the pricing and execution of pension de-risking transactions.

This opportunity would be ideal for someone with existing knowledge of Defined Benefit Pension Schemes and/or experience working at a Pension Consultancy or another Life Insurer; however, we are open to candidates from other backgrounds as well.

This is a hybrid working opportunity, which means you can split your working week flexibly between your home and our London office in Moorgate to help achieve a work-life balance which suits you.

    What you'll be doing:

    • Supervising Actuarial Analysts in providing bulk annuity and longevity quotes to pension schemes in a timely, efficient, and proactive manner ensuring that the highest level of support is provided to the Pricing Managers and Directors at all times.
    • Supervising and reviewing quotations produced by Actuarial Analysts whilst seeking support from Pricing Managers or Directors for more complex or larger transactions
    • Ensuring all quotes are produced with the highest level of accuracy and within Legal & General’s pricing model & over time ​be considered an expert in the use of capital and pricing models within quote production.
    • Ensuring quality and governance remains of paramount importance throughout the quotes process.
    • Supporting the Pricing Manager or Director in producing governance documentation and the first draft of the response to “requests for quotations” and benefit specifications.
    • Working creatively throughout the quotation process to provide innovative solutions to both clients and the market that meet customers’ needs.

    Qualifications

    Who we're looking for:

    • Part Qualified Actuary who is making good progress through the IFoA Exams.
    • Previous actuarial modelling experience through working in a pension consultancy environment, for a life insurer or for another de-risking provider.
    • Knowledge of Defined Benefit Pension Schemes or pricing and capital modelling.
    • Previous experience of being part of a project/deal-based team, including delegation to more junior team members (is highly desirable)
    • Ability to work quickly and accurately, without compromising quality.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong project management and time management skills.
