Program Manager (On-site)

  • Full-time

Company Description

At Lakeshore, we create innovative learning materials and world-class guest experiences for teachers, parents and children. Since 1954, we’ve grown into a global community—with a thriving e-commerce business, multiple catalogs, over 50 stores, a peerless national sales force, plus international offices that support our preeminent supply chain division. But today we’re working better, smarter and faster than ever—and setting our sights even higher. We’re building an infrastructure designed for scalability, embracing data-driven decision-making and using technology to improve efficiency and ensure the best tools for the best work. Most importantly, we continue to invest in a diverse team of inquisitive top talent who fuel each other’s passions and curiosity, take risks, try new things and believe that every new day brings opportunities for growth.

Job Description

Our Distribution and Transportation teams keep learning materials moving from our facilities to classrooms and homes across the country — and the work behind that is more data-driven than most people expect. As our Program Manager, you'll sit at the intersection of project leadership and operational analysis, turning complex data into decisions that make our supply chain faster and smarter. You'll report directly to our SVP of Distribution and Transportation and take real ownership of initiatives that shape how we work — not just how we report on it.

A day on the job looks like this:

  • Lead operational improvement initiatives across our distribution centers and transportation network — defining scope, timelines, budgets, and success metrics, then tracking results after go-live to make sure gains stick.
  • Build and maintain analytical models in Excel, SQL, and Python/VBA that surface trends, measure project impact, and automate repetitive workflows so your team can spend time on decisions, not data wrangling.
  • Write SQL queries to pull and analyze operational data directly from source systems, translating large and complex datasets into clear recommendations leadership can act on.
  • Design automated reporting solutions that deliver real-time operational insights, support root-cause analysis, and reduce the manual lift of recurring reports.
  • Partner cross-functionally to align priorities, clear obstacles, and keep initiatives on track — connecting the right people and sharing what you learn to raise the quality of project and data work across the team.

Qualifications

Got the skills and experience? Here’s what we’re looking for:

Required

  • 4–6 years of experience in operational analytics, supply chain analysis, or project management within a distribution, logistics, or related environment.
  • Fluency in SQL — comfortable writing queries, joining tables, and aggregating data from large operational datasets without hand-holding.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects end-to-end, including scope definition, stakeholder alignment, and post-implementation measurement.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred

  • Experience with Python or VBA for workflow automation.
  • PMP certification or active pursuit of one.
  • Background in retail, e-commerce, or consumer products distribution.
  • Business-level Spanish proficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.

What sets you apart

  • You don't wait for a report to tell you something is off — you go find it in the data yourself.
  • You translate technical findings into plain language that a non-analytical leader can act on immediately.
  • You treat a project plan as a living document, not a one-time deliverable, and you adjust proactively when conditions change.
  • You share what you know freely — a better-informed team produces better outcomes, and you believe that.
