Job Description

In a time of unprecedented expansion, we are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will assist the Accounting Manager with tasks pertaining to the month-end closing process, general ledger reconciliation and special projects. You will record business transactions with proper supporting documentation in accordance with best practices. The position will work closely with our Accounting and Financial Management team. Additionally, the role will be responsible for carrying out the month-end and year-end financial closings and maintaining the general ledger for areas encompassing revenue, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, payroll and or other ledger accounts. Ideal candidates have great accuracy, excellent organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting. A day in the office looks like this: 

  • Prepare and post journal entries; record appropriate monthly business expenses, accruals and reclasses 
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations and conduct account analysis and research to ensure accuracy and understanding of account balances and activity 
  • Review daily sales and credit card settlements by downloading, analyzing and combining data from various systems 
  • Assist in weekly payroll uploads and monthly analysis of payroll expenses and contract and temp labor 
  • Perform weekly review of order shipment history and identify unshipped orders for recording deferred revenue 
  • Perform, review and prepare reports of company custom solutions business, including researching project expenses and providing analysis on profitability 
  • Interact, cross-function and assist in special projects and year-end audit, as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred 
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting practices and procedures 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
