Job Description
The Senior Manager of Retail & Operations will be an integral member of the direct retail team, serving as the operational expert and strategy lead to identify and build new operational processes for free standing boutiques, concessions, pop-up activations and temporary distortions, as well as monitor performance, identify opportunities, and make recommendations to further drive excellence. This role will require seamless advanced planning, agility, and problem solving to address opportunities that emerge during all stages of planning and execution. This individual will play a pivotal role in delivering operational excellence and execution through development and design planning to support current and anticipate future business needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Operational Development
- Develop, redesign, propose operational processes for current and future business needs.
- Seek out areas for improvements to optimize, enhance efficiency and future proof.
- Provide operational input and execute activities in support of retail stores.
- Hindsight opening processes to define best practices and feed continuous improvement.
- Manage pipeline of all future openings in partnership with Retail Business Development.
- Manage and track retail operations spend vs. total budget; follow up regularly to ensure all stakeholders are on task, on time, and on budget.
- Ensure financial objectives and key strategies are prioritized and being met.
Cross-Functional Partnerships
- Partner cross-functionally to execute all aspects of direct retail openings and activations to create the ultimate client experience and achieve objectives.
- Partner with CRM team to support CRM integration and outreach.
- Partner with IT to optimize systems and processes.
- Project manage and roll out new technologies, policies, and procedures.
- Troubleshoot operational problems with relevant departments e.g. IT, Supply Chain, Customer Services, Finance, CRM and administrative support for the retail team
- Confirm and coordinate services with various external vendors (i.e. cleaning services, security, retail technology solutions) in alliance with cross-function partners
- Ensure all practices and processes comply with all regulations and are updated with a holistic lens (i.e. Legal, HR, etc.)
- Promote a positive, united work environment within the team and across departments while challenging status quo.
Retail Support, Operational Training & Communication
- Be the key communication point between boutique retail team and corporate team.
- Develop and conduct retail operations training programs for staff; identify training needs.
- Ensure regular presence in stores; gather and raise feedback to cross-functional teams.
- Provide feedback on team, manage staff schedules, and assist in recruiting processes.
- Support on-the-ground prior to and during openings. Provide hyper care post opening.
- Review store performance daily and weekly.
- Coordinate regular cycle counts and stock takes in all direct points of sale.
- Roll out retail related projects to enhance business and operation efficiency.
RETAIL INNOVATION TEAM MISSION
The Retail Innovation team at Parfums Christian Dior is leading the evolution of luxury fashion beauty and fragrance through the exploration and testing of new and distinctive retail experiences and models across Direct, Wholesale, and Digital, to further enrich client relationships with the Maison.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience with a background in vertical retail, D2C organization, 360 project management and financials/budgeting. Ideally with experience in beauty and fragrances, and / or luxury fashion environment.
- Experience in design, development, and operation of vertical retail environment critical.
- Experience in evolving or transforming retail operations tools (i.e. POS solution migration, system upgrades, integrations) a strength.
- Able to translate technical guides to end-user friendly materials.
- Understanding of Internet of Things (IoT) and retail technology complexities.
- Experience of working in a free-standing retail store a plus.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills. Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Organized & detail oriented.
- Remains composed and solutions-oriented even in high pressure, ambiguous situations.
- Able to distinguish which issues, dependencies, and risks are critical and demonstrate flexibility when prioritizing. Sense of urgency is critical.
- Works well with others. Strength of character to manage and influence a range of stakeholders across levels. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, ability to wear multiple hats and be hands-on and in the details.
- Self-starter, ability to take initiative, ownership, and accountability for their work.
- Ability to understand and leverage financial reports to drive business.
- Passion for the beauty and fragrances industry, competitive landscape & trends.
- Exceptional computer skills required, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with a foreign parent company a plus.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to travel within market, up to 25-50%
• Ability to flex schedule to include weekend, evening, and overnight work as needed

While the published salary range is a good faith reflection of the targeted salary level for the position, LVMH Inc. reserves the right to pay outside of the published range of $120,000-$145,000.
