Job Description
The Tax Manager (Germany) is responsible for all German direct and indirect tax matters across LGC’s German entities, ensuring accurate compliance, robust tax governance, and strong audit readiness. The role also contributes to Group Tax initiatives including global transfer pricing implementation, Pillar Two readiness, tax accounting inputs, and process improvements. The position requires a hands‑on technical expert who can partner effectively with Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, and Group Tax teams. - Manage German corporate income tax and trade tax filings, including coordination with external advisors
- Oversee all German VAT compliance, including monthly filings and ERP data accuracy
- Ensure correct handling of German withholding tax and maintain a robust tax compliance calendar
- Act as primary contact for German tax authorities and lead responses to tax audits and inquiries
- Prepare and maintain German transfer pricing documentation (Local File) and support Master File coordination
- Support transfer pricing analyses (including DEMPE), audits, APAs, and MAPs in collaboration with Group Tax
- Provide German tax data and analysis for Pillar Two and IFRS tax accounting (IAS 12 / IFRIC 23)
- Ensure consistency between tax compliance, tax accounting, and transfer pricing outcomes
- Monitor German tax law developments and advise business and finance teams on tax implications
- Improve German tax processes, controls, documentation, and tax technology including ERP enhancements
Qualifications
- Fluent German is an absolute must!
- Minimum 8 years of German tax experience (Big 4, advisory, or in‑house).
- Technical expertise in corporate tax, trade tax, VAT, WHT, and transfer pricing principles.
- Experience managing German tax audits and interacting with tax authorities.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast‑moving environment.
- Degree in Tax, Law, Accounting, Economics, or Business.
- Steuerberater or Diplom‑Finanzwirt qualification.
- Experience with Pillar Two, tax governance processes, and tax technology/ERP systems (IFS).
- Experience in multinational environments and cross‑border transactions.
