Job Description

This is a remote position that will ideally be based within the PT or MT time zone.

The Account Manager (AM) is responsible for day-to-day sales operations for LGC Clinical Diagnostics Division within an assigned territory. The AM will drive sales growth and long-term business relationships with end-user accounts for our diagnostic and genomics product lines. The AM will work with the territory’s Account Executive to build a comprehensive business strategy for the territory. This position is home-based.

Key Responsibilities

  • Each territory will be covered in tandem by one Account Manager and one Account Executive.
  • Develop consultative relationships with new and existing account base for all products.
  • Achieves assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
  • Maintain detailed understanding of all products and their relevance and application in the Clinical Laboratory space.
  • Coordinates sales effort with marketing, sales management, customer service, accounting, logistics and technical support groups.
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Update and maintain current Customer Relations Management database.
  • Continue education on product advantages to ensure customer loyalty.
  • Completes strategic customer account plans that meet company standards.
  • Develops him/herself to be the trusted advisor to our customers.
  • Maintains high customer satisfaction that meets company standards.
  • Completes required training and development objectives within the assigned period.
  • Attend tradeshows in or out of assigned territory as requested.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Experience and Technical Skills

  • Exhibit an understanding of the importance of customer retention, continuous improvement, maintaining high standards of performance, partnership and attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of Clinical Laboratory testing including supporting technology
  • Be a champion of meeting both internal and external customer needs

Education and/or Experience

  • BA/BS degree in Chemistry, Business, or related field
  • 3 - 5 Years Direct Technical Sales experience in (Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory experience preferred)
  • CRM Experience preferred (Salesforce.com preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
