Job Description
The Head of IT Operations Europe is responsible for leading and coordinating all regional IT operational activities across Eastern and Western Europe. This role oversees the regional 2nd-level support organizations as well as local IT teams, ensuring stable, secure, and efficient delivery of IT services that support business operations. The position drives operational excellence, standardization, and continuous improvement across the region while aligning with global IT strategy, governance, and service management practices. Working closely with global IT leadership and regional business stakeholders, the Head of IT Operations Europe ensures high service quality, strong operational resilience, and effective support for the company’s European business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all IT Operations across the European region, including both Western and Eastern Europe.
- Oversee regional support organizations and act as the escalation point for major operational incidents
- Provide leadership and governance for local IT teams, ensuring consistent service delivery aligned with global standards.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of IT services supporting regional business operations.
- Drive ITIL-based service management practices, including incident, problem, change, and service request management.
- Collaborate closely with global IT teams to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security policies, and operational standards.
- Develop and maintain operational KPIs and service metrics, driving accountability and continuous improvement.
- Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency, automation, and service quality across the region.
- Manage vendor relationships and external service providers supporting IT operations.
- Oversee regional IT budgeting, resource planning, and cost management.
- Ensure compliance with corporate security policies, regulatory requirements, and data protection standards.
- Partner with business leadership to ensure IT services effectively support manufacturing, corporate, and operational needs.
- Lead and develop regional IT teams, fostering a culture of service excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure, or service delivery leadership roles.
- Proven experience managing regional or multi-national IT support organizations.
- Strong understanding of ITIL / ITSM frameworks and enterprise service management practices.
- Experience leading distributed teams across multiple countries and cultures.
- Demonstrated success in operational transformation, process improvement, and service optimization.
- Strong experience managing major incident response and operational risk mitigation.
- Experience working in global IT organizations with centralized governance models.
- Strong vendor management and outsourcing experience.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills; Fluency in English required.

Preferred Skills
- ITIL certification or comparable service management credentials.
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Previous experience working with or overseeing SAP Basis operations.
- Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure environments and hybrid cloud platforms.
- Strong analytical and data-driven operational management capabilities.
