In the most stressful or demanding environments, we continue to drive change where it really counts.

Job Description

We are looking for a Director to join our Risk Advisory team in Sydney. In this role, you will lead complex, high-stakes engagements and act as a trusted adviser to boards, executives and regulators on the risks that matter most, at the intersection of governance, technology and delivery.

You will work closely with clients, Partners and leaders across Advisory, Financial Crime and Technology & Data to deliver integrated solutions and grow the practice. This is a strong opportunity for a commercially minded risk leader who wants to build a practice, shape its market position and have real influence on its future direction.

You will bring deep expertise in one or more of our core pillars:

  • Risk & Regulatory Advisory: enterprise risk, governance and accountability, risk culture, compliance and regulatory remediation.
  • Technology Risk & Resilience: operational resilience, CPS 230 uplift, technology governance, third-party risk and disaster recovery.
  • Project Risk & Assurance: major programme risk reviews, transformation assurance, programme governance and independent assurance.

In this role you will:

  • Lead a portfolio of complex engagements, translating regulatory, technology and delivery risks into clear, commercial advice for boards and executives.
  • Drive business growth by leveraging executive-level relationships and leading strategic proposals and negotiations.

  • Shape the practice’s services in response to emerging regulatory, technology and market trends, including operational resilience and AI governance.

  • Build market profile for yourself and the firm through thought leadership, publications and speaking engagements.

  • Partner with leaders across the firm to deliver integrated, cross-service client solutions.

  • Own commercial performance, quality and risk across your engagements, setting the benchmark for defensible, evidence-based advice.

  • Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing team as the practice grows.

Qualifications

We are looking for a senior risk leader who combines technical credibility with commercial drive and executive presence.

You will bring:

  • 8–10+ years’ experience in consulting, risk management, compliance, technology risk, operational resilience, programme assurance or transformation.

  • Recognised technical expertise in at least one Risk Advisory pillar, with working knowledge of the others.

  • A strong track record of leading complex, client-facing engagements and managing board and executive-level stakeholder relationships.

  • Proven business development success and experience managing the financial performance of a portfolio.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to influence and negotiate at the most senior levels.

  • Inclusive, empathy-driven leadership and sound judgement in complex, sensitive situations.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Law, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.

Preferred, but not essential:

  • Postgraduate qualifications.

  • Professional certifications such as CA/CPA, CIA, CISA, CRISC, GAICD or programme management credentials.

  • Experience across financial services, government or other regulated industries.
