Job Description
An exciting opportunity exists to join KordaMentha Implementation Services as an Operations Manager – Financial Crime. You will be part of the KordaMentha team that offers flexible, AML/CTF specialised resources via a co-sourced model or Managed Service. Our team members undertake agreed AML/CTF operational activities on behalf of our clients.
Reporting to the Partner, you will be responsible for ensuring the team meets all its AML/CTF and Sanctions regulatory guidelines. You will provide insights and recommendations on how to improve the current Financial Crime Operations. You will lead a team of analysts and be responsible for managing client relationships and act as an escalation point for both the team and clients.
Key tasks:
- Lead AML/CTF and sanctions operations across a portfolio of client engagements.
- Drive operational excellence through effective risk management, quality oversight and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery and stakeholder engagement.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of analysts, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
- Act as a key escalation point for complex financial crime matters and operational challenges.
- Contribute to business growth through proposal development, client opportunities and capability-building initiatives.
Qualifications
We are looking for people with the following qualifications and experience:
- Tertiary qualification in either Business, Commerce, Financial Services, Accounting, Law, or relevant discipline is preferred. Or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in AML/CTF & Sanctions.
- 3+ years of leadership of an AML Operations team.
- Strong understanding, knowledge, and application of AML/CTF and Sanctions regulations.
- Strong people leadership and management ability.
- High attention to detail.
- Personal commitment to and visible role modelling of the organisation’s behaviours and values.
- Ability to act with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities with demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders through effective communication (verbal and written).
- Passionate about AML/CTF.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
