Job Description

Position:          Bilingual Technician / Trainer

Location:         Burlington, ON, L7L 6A4

POSITION SUMMARY 
We are looking for a Technician or Electrician  interested in becoming a Technical Trainer. The Technical Trainer plays a vital role in delivering both classroom and hands-on training to internal technicians and inspectors, as well as Konecranes customers who operate, inspect, and maintain overhead and mobile cranes. Training sessions are conducted either at Konecranes training facilities or on customer sites.

Besides providing training, the trainer collaborates with colleagues to develop, update, and improve instructional materials, ensuring they meet industry standards and the changing needs of crane operators and maintenance personnel.

The ideal candidate will be able to effectively teach and demonstrate crane operation, diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance. Training will cover all essential electrical and mechanical components of crane systems, ensuring participants gain a comprehensive understanding of their functionality and maintenance requirements.

 Fluency in both English and French is mandatory for this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct training sessions in both classroom and hands-on settings, ensuring participant engagement and knowledge retention.
  • Administer assessments and tests to assess participants' understanding and proficiency.
  • Assist in creating and revising instructional materials for the technical training curriculum.
  • Assess the overall effectiveness of the technical training program and help implement improvements.
  • Collaborate with other trainers to stay current on industry regulations and include relevant updates in training sessions and materials.
  • Customize training materials to address the business's learning needs and include feedback for ongoing improvement.
  • Serve as a resource for technical questions from the field.
  • Assist with safety training as needed.

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:  

  • Fluency in both spoken and written English and French is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience maintaining and servicing overhead and/or mobile cranes.
  • Trade school degree (or equivalent education or field experience) in an industrial subject. 
  • Excellent presentation and communication abilities.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand parts.
  • Proficient in Word and PowerPoint. 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:  

  • This position requires 40%-50% travel domestically (Canada)
