Job Description

About the Role:

As an RFP Writer and Analyst, you will be responsible for crafting persuasive and effective responses to requests for proposals (RFPs). You will work closely with our sales and marketing teams to create proposals that demonstrate our expertise and highlight our unique value proposition. You will also be responsible for coordinating with subject matter experts to ensure that the responses are technically accurate and comprehensive.

Responsibilities:

  • Write compelling and persuasive responses to RFPs, RFIs, and other bid documents
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy and completeness of proposals
  • Manage multiple RFPs simultaneously and prioritize deadlines accordingly
  • Edit and proofread proposals for grammar, syntax, and style
  • Develop and maintain a library of standard proposal content and templates
  • Participate in proposal strategy meetings and brainstorming sessions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in RFP writing or a similar role
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

Qualifications, Skills, and Characteristics

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated expertise with government proposal writing, grant writing, and/or the RFP/procurement process.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, History, or a related field.
  • The ideal candidate should possess 2+ years of experience in a document review or proposal and RFP writing role.
  • Experience working with government entities at the federal, state, or local level.
  • Strong and effective communication, writing, analytic, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer and organizational skills, as well as superior attention to detail.
  • Good strategic planning and time management abilities.
  • Demonstrated skills working with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with Microsoft Publisher is preferred, but not required. 

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of government terms, contracts, and required timely deliverables.
  • Familiarity with government purchasing vehicles.
  • Familiar with the fields of preservation, conservation, records management, disaster recovery, imaging, or data entry. 
  • Experience utilizing industry tools such as FedBizOps/SAM, GovWin, procurement portals (i.e., Periscope, Public Purchase, BidNet, etc.), CRMs (i.e., Salesforce, Zoho, HubSpot, etc.), and RFP management systems.
