Job Description
The Senior Director, Media Strategy & Planning leads integrated HCP and patient media strategy for a high-profile healthcare portfolio. This role turns complex market, audience, and channel inputs into clear media recommendations that clients trust and teams can activate. The role partners across media planning, analytics, research, creative, medical, account, Klick Applied Sciences, and Klick Labs to improve strategy, measurement, and business outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Set integrated HCP and patient media strategy across audience definition, channel architecture, investment approach, measurement design, and client recommendations.
- Identify and test media partners, tools, data sources, and planning approaches that improve audience quality, client learning, and campaign performance.
- Use AI and automation to improve insight development, planning quality, storytelling, and team efficiency while maintaining client confidentiality and data security standards.
- Lead new business and pitch strategy by shaping market landscape framing, audience strategy, media ecosystem recommendations, and agency positioning.
- Coach media planners through prioritization, quality control, client-facing strategy development, feedback, and career growth.
Qualifications
Required:
- 8+ years of media strategy and planning experience, including recent pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, or regulated healthcare communications work.
- Experience developing omnichannel HCP and patient media strategies across digital, social, search, programmatic, endemic, point of care, video, TV, audio, and emerging media.
- Strong understanding of healthcare audience privacy, sensitive health data considerations, and appropriate handling of patient and HCP-level data.
- Experience working through MLR, legal, regulatory, and compliance review processes for healthcare media programs.
- Track record connecting campaign performance, audience insights, and marketplace dynamics to measurable client business recommendations.
- Experience leading media planners, including coaching, prioritization, quality control, performance feedback, and senior client presentation support.
Desired:
- Comfort and enthusiasm for using AI as a regular part of how work gets done.
- Experience in rare disease, oncology, specialty pharma, launch planning, or small-audience activation.
- Knowledge of healthcare media measurement partners, audience platforms, or data providers such as Crossix, IQVIA, Symphony Health, Swoop, DeepIntent, or PulsePoint.
- Experience shaping cross-functional work with analytics, strategy, research, creative, account, medical, and regulatory teams.
- Portfolio or examples showing strategic pitch narratives, media frameworks, or client-facing recommendations for complex healthcare audiences.
