Job Description

Responsible for analyzing Home Health & Hospice medical records to ensure supporting billing documentation is in place, certification periods are met and clinical documentation is within industry guidelines and Medicare requirements; reviews documentation and applies appropriate code for billing; obtains insurance verification and prior authorizations; monitors and works daily billing errors and A/R; participates in the creation and implementation of standard work for daily, weekly and monthly document verification and chart audits. Provides patient scheduling for field clinicians.

Qualifications

What is required...

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of patient account billing

What is preferred...

  • AA or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Previous experience in medical billing with commercial insurance and Medicare/Medicaid
  • Previous experience in a medical records environment
  • Previous medical office experience with exposure to medical records, scheduling, high volume phone systems and medical transcription
  • Experience in home health and hospice coding and billing
  • Certified Coder
  • Bilingual; English/Spanish

Additional Information

Wage:  Wage range currently starts at $21.42/hour and goes up to $32.47/hour. Actual wage will be based on years' of applicable experience. This position may also qualify for an additional 15% premium in lieu of benefits.
