Job Description

The Charge Capture Specialist reports to the Director of Revenue Cycle.  The Charge Capture Specialist collaborates with department manager(s), director(s) and/or designated PFS contact(s) to continually improve and maintain the efficiency and accuracy of the overall charging process. The Charge Capture Specialist is responsible for the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of entering all patients' encounter related charges. Identifies, researches and analyzes billing errors or omissions.  Responsible for scanning correspondence into the Medical Record.  This position will also be responsible for understanding the Chargemaster and providing back up for the Chargemaster Coordinator.  May provide back up to additional departments as needed.

Qualifications

What is required...

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Two years’ experience in medical clinic/office setting

What is preferred...

  • Exposure to a variety of software applications
  • Medical Coding or Billing certification (CPC or CCS)
  • Previous patient billing or experience

Additional Information

Wage:  Wage range starts at $22.19/hour and goes up to $33.64/hour. Actual wage will be based on years' of applicable experience. 

FTE:  1.0 = 40 hours/week

Schedule:  Primarily Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pm

Union Status:  This is a non-union covered position
