We are looking for a Trainee BMS Commissioning Engineer to join our growing team.

You will work alongside experienced engineers to learn BMS software, control systems, commissioning procedures and fault-finding techniques, progressing towards independently delivering commissioning activities while ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is technically minded, eager to learn and interested in developing a career in Building Management Systems (BMS). 

This role is a 50/50 split between office and site-based work, and applicants must be willing to travel to the UK & Europe when required.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Support Senior BMS Engineers with commissioning and testing activities.
• Assist with BMS programming, software configuration and system setup.
• Carry out I/O checks, point-to-point testing and system verification.
• Support commissioning of HVAC and building control systems.
• Assist with fault finding, diagnostics and system troubleshooting.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and project documentation.
• Work with industry-standard communication protocols such as BACnet and Modbus.
• Support the development of graphics, alarms, trends and user interfaces.
• Complete commissioning records and project documentation.
• Participate in site testing, client demonstrations and system handovers.
• Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements and company procedures.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or a related Engineering discipline.
• Alternatively, suitable for a 3rd or 4th year Electrical/Instrumentation Apprentice looking to move into automation and controls.
• Strong interest in engineering, automation and technology.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full clean driving licence.
