Job Description
Working as part of a maintenance team on various sites across the Maynooth Region and along the central belt. You will be required to work on your own initiative and plan and review maintenance tasks, work orders and ensure all requirements/preparations are fully undertaken before commencing work.
Liaise with FM maintenance manager and FM team and colleagues to ensure all jobs are planned ahead, PPM dates met and all works closed out on time in in line with PPM Schedule.
Responsible for completing a range of Planned Preventive Maintenance Tasks and Inspections. You will be required to complete daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annual and annual PPM tasks adhering to Irish Regulations, I.S. 10101 and SFG20 requirements. Completing and documenting check sheets and reports for each PPM task including but not limited to the following
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Maintain current electricians license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Direct and train Apprentices to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.
- Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools and testing equipment.
- Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment.
- Comply with all EHSQ policies and procedures as required.
Qualifications
- Level 6 Qualified Electrician
- QC Number and Testing experience
- Safe Electric / RECI Registered (or eligible)
- Proven experience in commercial or industrial electrical maintenance
- Full, clean Irish or EU driving licence
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a mobile environment
Desirable
- Experience with FM contracts or multi‑site portfolios
- Knowledge of PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance and Reactive Maintenance
