About the role: 

As a valued member of our Allied Health team, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based care to our elderly customers, focusing on enhancing their independence, health, and overall quality of life. In this community-based role, you’ll spend most of your time visiting customers in their own homes across the ACT, applying your expertise to make a real difference in their day-to-day lives. When not conducting home visits, you’ll have the flexibility to work from home or visit our Canberra office.

You will provide a range of services including but not limited to:

  • Equipment prescription
  • Home modifications
  • Falls prevention education
  • Manual handling training
  • ADL assessment/retraining
  • Energy conservation
  • Cognitive assessment

This is a permanent part-time role, with up to 22.5 hours per week. You choose which weekdays work best for you – whether it's three full days or spreading out the hours across more days. Let us know what works for you!

About you:

You are a qualified and passionate Occupational Therapist with a genuine interest in working with the elderly. You excel in a community care environment, using your skills to promote well-being, independence, and comfort in the homes of our customers. You’re highly organised, able to manage your time across various tasks and locations, and work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • A Driver’s Licence and registered vehicle 
  • Car insurance (minimum Third Party Property; Comprehensive preferred)
  • First Aid and CPR certificate (or be willing to obtain)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to build strong internal relationships, including working within a multidisciplinary team
