Job Description

Kanadevia Inova is recruiting an O&M Shift Team Leader (STL) (Day Shifts), to lead the safe, compliant and efficient operation of our Westfield Energy Recovery Facility. This is a an operational leadership role with responsibility for plant performance, permit control and site safety across all operations and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Permit Office, ensuring all isolations and permits are issued and controlled safely

  • Ensure full compliance with HSE, environmental, operational and contractual requirements

  • Supervise operations and maintenance teams to maintain plant availability and output

  • Act as senior site representative when senior management is not on site

  • Maintain logs, look-ahead plans, inspections and housekeeping standards

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety-first culture across the site

  • Ensure all personnel are trained and competent for electrical, mechanical and permit duties

  • Lead safety meetings, audits, inspections and incident reviews

  • Ensure the facility remains safe, clean and compliant at all times

  • Drive continuous improvement in HSE performance

Qualifications

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical background (preferred)

  • Proven experience in EfW, power generation or industrial plant operations

  • Good experience in a Shift Team Leader or supervisory role

  • Strong understanding of boilers, turbines, control systems and plant operations

  • Proven experience with permit-to-work and isolation systems

Technical & Operational Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of plant interlocks, alarms, trips and control loops

  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively during abnormal or emergency situations

  • Confident managing maintenance coordination and plant condition

  • Safety-driven leader who sets and maintains high standards

  • Competent with operational logs, reporting and planning tools
