Job Description

Kanadevia Inova are urgently seeking a Commissioning Shift Team Leader to join our Commissioning team on the  Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) in Rivenhall, Braintree, Essex.

Start Date: 01/12/2025

End Date: 31/03/2026

  • Lead and coordinate commissioning and operational activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant plant performance.

  • Supervise shift teams, ensuring adherence to HSEQ standards, Permit-to-Work procedures, and site safety regulations.

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize plant systems, identifying and resolving technical issues during commissioning and operation.

  • Maintain accurate operational records, logs, and reports while ensuring effective communication between departments and contractors.

  • Drive continuous improvement by supporting training, team development, and process optimization across commissioning activities.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in power generation, including 2–5 years as a Control Room Operator (CRO), ideally within EfW or similar large-scale plants.

  • Proven leadership in Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) management, with knowledge of relevant legislation.

  • SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) and valid Safety Contractors Certificate (SCC) or equivalent required.

  • Strong understanding of DCS systems and experience leading Permit-to-Work processes.

  • ASME/pressure vessel operation certification preferred; SAP Operator qualifications (mechanical/electrical) an advantage.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with flexibility to work shifts and travel as required.
