Junior Payroll Officer: Support Services

Job Description
KPMG in Papua New Guinea remains a significant growth trajectory, and we require a Payroll Office to join our growing support Services team in Port Moresby.
Key responsibilities of this role are:
- Payroll processing of National and Expatriate employees as per pay cycle
- Process special pay runs outside of the standard pay runs
- Maintain and process employee salary sacrifice and other deduction correctly in the system
- Preparation and processing of salaries and wages tax
- Calculation, processing and communication of superannuation contributions to Nasfund and PAcSuper
- Maintenance of relevant data within the applicable Nasfund and NSCL portals
- Prepare bank files for payroll payment uploads
- Assist in Preparation and lodgement of Statement of Earnings on yearly basis
- Assist with payroll and finance month end reporting
- Assist with payroll rollover at year end
- Validating and maintaining employee records in payroll software
- Being the key point of contact for all payroll queries
- Updating and maintaining payroll record as per the filing requirements of the firm
- Maintaining compliance with firm policies and procedures
- Corresponding with external stakeholders when needed
Qualifications
if you are interested, does this sound like you? having the following would be an advantage:
- Diploma in Accounting (or relevant qualifications)
- Minimum of two years of experience in payroll processing (applicants with less than two years' experience need not to apply)
- Hand on experience in Payroll and HR software (preferably Attache or PayGlobal.
- Acquired experience and skills in applications in Microsoft Officer-Excel, Email and Word
- Sound knowledge of PNG's salary sacrifice laws and deductions
- A curious and growth mindset, with a desire to continue personal professional development.

- Demonstrate ability to interact, engage and foster trustworthy relationships with your internal clients and external service providers
- Good communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate maturity with the ability to exhibit confidentiality in information handling

- The ability to manage and prioritize concurrent projects
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously, while being in a team environment.
