Job Description

The Project Manager is Responsible for launching major projects on time per the customer’s project timing, expectations and within the prescribed financial parameters. Interface with all customer personnel and resolve customer issues relating to new and existing programs. Responsible for guiding and directing the project team (Engineering, Production, Quality, etc.) in regards to project issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in automotive product development, demonstrated knowledge and skill in projects.

Relevant experience in the following:

  • Design and project leadership skills
  • Involvement in the development process of electromechanical products- connectors desired
  • Resource Management

  • Budget Management
  • Manufacturing Processes  Automotive Industry Operating Systems

  • Planning Software

 

Main Activities

  • Review the project proposal/plan to determine project timelines, funding constraints, project execution procedures, staffing requirements, and the allocation of available resources across different project phases. Establish the work plan in the resource planning tool (Project).
  • Provide engineering support for the development of new and existing programs. Perform weekly monitoring of project schedules and overall project finances.
  • Ensure ProKostal is kept up to date and modify schedules or plans as required.
  • Verify that all manufacturing issues are resolved. Conduct critical design and pre-production reviews in accordance with KOSTAL procedures.
  • Verify component readiness status, as well as assembly line capability and readiness.
  • Maintain the customer planning process (e.g., Powerway, WERS, etc.). Prepare and conduct PSO activities at the production plant and seek to reduce quality issues or implement other containment programs, as applicable.
  • Monitor costs throughout the development process, with a focus on all engineering changes and equipment manufacturing activities, while coordinating quality improvement and engineering initiatives.
  • Act as the customer representative, ensuring that all requirements are addressed (e.g., selection of special characteristics, establishment of quality objectives and related deadlines, corrective and preventive actions, and product design and development).
