About KIPP NYC:
Founded in 1995, KIPP NYC Public Schools is a non-profit network of 18 free, public charter schools located in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. We partner with families and communities to create joyful, academically excellent schools where every child grows up free to create the future they want for themselves and their communities.
From our first middle school, KIPP Academy in the Bronx, to today’s network of eight elementary schools, nine middle schools, and one high school, KIPP NYC provides students with engaging academics, arts, athletics, and social–emotional learning that prepare them for college, career, and beyond.
Our commitment doesn’t end at graduation. Through KIPP Forward, we continue to support our alumni as they navigate college, career, and life, helping them define success on their own terms and pursue the paths that align with their goals and sense of purpose.
Together, we serve more than 9,400 students, support 4,700 alumni, and employ over 1,100 dedicated team members who bring passion, expertise, and commitment to our mission every day.
About KIPP NYC College Prep High School:
In August 2009, KIPP NYC College Prep High School (CPHS) opened its doors to serve students graduating from KIPP middle schools in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan, as well as other New York City students seeking a rigorous, college-preparatory high school program.
KIPP NYC College Prep builds on the key elements of their successful elementary and middle schools, including more time in school, a focus on student achievement, highly qualified and committed faculty, and a school culture that supports success in learning.
Located in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx, CPHS currently educates over 2,000 students in grades 9–12 across two locations. Over 90% of students enroll in at least one type of rigorous academic offering, including 16 Advanced Placement (AP) courses, 17 Dual Enrollment courses, and 13 Honors courses.
In addition to a wide range of electives and over 25 clubs, the school offers 13 varsity and junior varsity sports programs. CPHS also provides a comprehensive college and career counseling department to ensure students engage in enriching summer programming, develop individual career plans, prepare fully for the SAT, and enroll in a college or career pathway that meets their interests, abilities, and financial needs.
Since its founding, 99% of CPHS students have graduated from high school, 91% have matriculated to a 2- or 4-year college, and 49% have earned a college degree within six or more years.
New for 2026-2027: Our high school will expand to an additional facility beginning in 2026–2027, transitioning into a Lower School and Upper School model! Students will select an industry concentration aligned with their interests and goals, focusing their studies in grades 11–12 on that pathway. The new building, located just a seven-minute walk from our current state-of-the-art campus at 75 Canal St. West, will feature 40 classrooms, eight state-of-the-art science labs, double gymnasiums, a commercial kitchen and food prep space, a cafetorium with an outdoor patio, a 10,000 sq. ft. rooftop play space, and dedicated dance, art, music, health, weight, and cardio rooms.
