KIPP Texas is part of the national KIPP network of 255 college-preparatory public charter schools in 20 states and the District of Columbia. Nationwide, KIPP students complete four-year college at a rate of 36 percent, comparable to the national average for all students and approximately three times higher than the average of students from low-income communities.
Job Description
Duties and Essential Job Functions:
The Manager, Academic Progress of KIPP Texas Public Schools is responsible for ensuring all operational components of the academic recovery programming run efficiently and effectively. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Preparation and submission high-quality reports, on-time, without error
Error-free professional communication via email
Coordination of contracted tutors across regions
Coordination of contracts and proposals through the submission process
Planning and scheduling of academic recovery trainings, meetings, and other related events
Establishes work plans and staffing for each phase of the project
Works alongside school based operations staff to ensure proper set-up of acceleration learning spaces and coordination of learning materials across regions
Builds cross-departmental relationships with other key shareholders in order to find solutions to obstacles impacting work streams related to academic recovery
Supports the effective onboarding of Academic Recovery teammates
Crafts and manages small-scale project plans related to academic recovery programming and projects
Performs other related job duties and training as assigned
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proven ability to present clear and compelling communication to internal and external stakeholders
Proven ability to run projects, meetings, and presentations that are critical to success
Proven ability to complete projects on time without deficiencies or defect
Proven leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills that are acknowledged by peers and industry professionals in areas of responsibility
Self-motivated and proven ability to work as a member of a high-performing team
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and planning skills
Strong analytical skills
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and particularly Excel)
Ability to understand and create budgets
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy is necessary
Strong follow-up and follow-through skills are necessary
High proficiency using computers, printers, copy machines, and fax machines
Ability to creatively and effectively express KIPP’s mission and purpose
Required Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
Experience in K-12 education
Experience in large corporate or educational organizations, highly preferred

Compensation and Benefits:
In addition to a competitive salary scale, a part of KIPP Texas’ competitive benefits options, KIPP offers all employees an $0 HMO plan for the employee only. In addition to our $0 plan, KIPP provides a $600 employer contribution towards a Health Savings Account and a variety of other supplemental benefits such as Dental, Vision, Short and Long-Term Disability, Pet Insurance, Life, etc.
Funding:
The Manager of Academic Progress will be funded directly from the Elementary and Secondary Schools Emergency Relief (ESSER) grants awarded by the Texas Education Agency under the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (ESSER II) and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ESSER III). This position will be funded solely (100%) from the ESSER II and III allocation for Direct expenses through September 30, 2023, and may continue to be funded through September 30, 2024, depending upon the availability of ESSER grant funds. At the end of the grant period this position may be eliminated unless other sources of funds are secured to maintain this position or a similar position. The employee must sign this job description acknowledging receipt of the job description and signing their acknowledgement that this position is grant funded and is temporarily aligning with the terms of the grant period.
