Company Description
A bit about us
At Judo, we’re redefining business banking for the modern era. Built on teamwork, trusted relationships and a challenger spirit, we exist to better serve Australian SMEs. What began in 2016 as a bold idea has grown into one of the fastest‑growing new banks globally, with more than 30 locations nationwide.
We put our people and customers at the heart of everything we do. Our agility means we can say ‘yes’ when others say ‘no’, delivering personalised banking that helps businesses access the funding they need, when they need it. Relationships matter here – with our customers and with each other.
Our culture – a multi‑award‑winning place to work
We firmly believe that culture eats strategy for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and that the most important investment we can make is in our people. Our values of Trust, Teamwork, Accountability and Performance guide how we work every day.
Judo was built from the ground up with a clear purpose: to be the most trusted SME business bank in Australia. Our customers and relationships are at the heart of how we work, not bureaucracy. We think differently, invite new ideas, and create an environment where people feel they belong and are empowered.
We’re proud to be externally recognised too – including being named on the AFR BOSS Best Places to Work list for four consecutive years. We are certified as a Great Place To Work® Australia organisation, being recognised as one of Australia’s Best Workplaces™ 2025, celebrating our dedication to fostering an inclusive, empowering environment.
Our vision is to build a world-class SME business bank and it’s our people that can make it happen.
Job Description
Now, about this opportunity…
In this role, you’ll play a key part in our Deposit Product Team, helping us execute Judo Bank’s deposit pricing and funding strategy and product evolution. You’ll work closely with the rest of the Product Team, Treasury, Finance and Risk, contributing to outcomes that genuinely support Australian SMEs and strengthen Judo’s continued growth.
If that excites you, this just might be your dream job:
- Support the end-to-end deposit pricing and funding analytics agenda, translating data and insights into clear commercial recommendations for senior leadership.
- Act as a trusted business partner to Treasury, Product, Finance and Risk, influencing outcomes rather than simply producing analysis.
- Provide strategic input into Judo’s deposit funding strategy, balancing growth, margin, stability and regulatory constraints.
- Manage deposit pricing frameworks and governance, ensuring pricing decisions are commercially sound, well-documented and aligned to strategy.
- Identify, evaluate and implement new deposit funding solutions, partners, structures and product enhancements to support balance sheet growth and diversification.
- Monitor market dynamics, competitor activity and customer behaviour to identify emerging opportunities and risks.
- Ensure strong understanding and practical application of regulatory and compliance requirements impacting deposits, including FCS, FATCA/CRS and broader prudential expectations.
- Partner closely with Risk, Compliance and Legal teams to ensure deposit products, partners, pricing and processes meet regulatory obligations and customer fairness standards.
- Support regulatory reporting and assurance activities, providing senior-level oversight and challenge rather than hands-on production only.
Qualifications
You’ll likely bring:
- Significant experience in banking or financial services, ideally within deposits, funding, treasury, pricing or balance sheet management.
- Understanding of deposit products, funding structures and market dynamics.
- A strong understanding of the Australian regulatory environment and practical experience operating in a regulated setting.
- The ability to identify opportunities, assess risks and recommend pragmatic solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics for executive audiences.
- Demonstrated experience influencing senior and external stakeholders and contributing to strategic decision-making.
- Confidence in making decisions and owning outcomes
- A collaborative, relationship-led approach to your work
- Curiosity, adaptability and a desire to keep learning
- A passion for supporting SME Business customers
If you don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply – your experience, mindset and potential matter to us.
