The Accountant II applies technical practices and concepts beyond mere detailed rules/instructions to assist the Financial Reporting Manager with reporting, GL accounting, and other activities. This is the second level of a multi-level career development class series. Work assignments enable incumbents to obtain the experience required for advancement to Senior Accountant.

What You’ll Do

  • Performs Capital Lease and Fixed Asset Reconciliations, utilizing accrual/payment information from Oracle Procurement and A/P to determine accuracy and prepares/distributes various standard and non-standard reports to various levels of management

  • Actively involved in providing proper GL account coding for Capital Projects, Prepaid IT, and other expenditures to business partners and stakeholders. Understands the chart of accounts and proper accounting standards for accurate presentation in the financial statements

  • Supports Fixed Asset Management in Oracle, including but not limited to review/identification of fixed asset transactions through A/P, and assists with month-end coordination of Oracle system process completion

  • Makes journal entries for Capital Lease and Fixed Asset activity. Actively involved in the month end close process with strict adherence to financial statement accuracy and reporting deadlines and prepares a variety of standard/non-standard financial documents and reports according to a regular schedule

  • Provides assistance with system upgrades/testing related to Capital Leases and Fixed Assets

  • Other duties as assigned by management

What You’ll Need 

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent of 4 years experience

  • Three to five years directly related experience required with a demonstrated progression in responsibilities preferred

  • One to two years of experience preferred using Oracle, Excel4Apps, or other similar business applications

  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), more specifically with IFRS 16 - Capitalized Leases

  • Experience with software platform upgrades & system implementation

  • Computer Skills: Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Oracle, Excel4Apps(Oracle Plug-in Tool)
