Facility Security Officer

What you will achieve

You will work in a fast-paced environment providing support for Department of Defense (DoD) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Program contracts, to include coordination with Program Management, Primes, Subcontractors, and Government Customers.

You will:

  • Work closely with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) to maintain facility clearance in compliance with the 32 CFR Part 117 National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) Rule
  • Process initial and Periodic Reinvestigations (PR) clearance requests using Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and Electronic Application (eAPP) and maintain accurate clearance data and personnel files for 1000+ cleared employees
  • Interpret and implement security requirements in contractual Statements of Work
  • Familiarize yourself with classification guides associated with DoD information
  • Conduct regular internal security assessments to assess the effectiveness of the security program and identify areas for improvement

Essential Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in a facilities security role; must have experience providing support for classified government programs
  • United States Citizenship with ability to get a Top-Secret (SCI) clearance
  • In-depth knowledge of NISPOM, Intelligence Community Directives (ICD), Executive Orders , DoD Directives, secure supply chain principles, Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-171; working knowledge of government databases including DISS, National Industrial Security System (NISS) and National Background Investigation Services (NBIS)
  • Experience interpreting security guidance on DD254s form and managing subcontractor DD254s form
  • Ability to develop and render concise reports, summaries and formal presentations
     

Desirable Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Industrial Security Professional or equivalent certification and experience with SIMS software
