The Opportunity
As a Strategic Finance Business Partner, you have the chance to contribute to the growth and profitability of our businesses. You will learn about the challenges and priorities of our businesses and use that information to help make decisions. You will work with the Finance team to understand the financials and use data to identify key information. Your support to CFO customers will involve providing insights on performance, cost efficiencies, sales, profitability, and considerations for decision-making. You will be part of creating change, innovation, and value.
The Team
As a Strategic Finance Business Partner, you will join our team that primarily supports our Institutional Solutions businesses. This includes Pension Risk Transfer, Stable Value, Bank and Corporate Owned Life Insurance, and Funding Agreements. Our team values collaboration, inclusivity, strong business knowledge, and courage in difficult situations. Effective communication skills are key to building relationships and explaining your recommendations. We ask thoughtful questions to identify specific issues.
The Impact
Your work as a Strategic Finance Business Partner will impact strategic decisions made by your business partners. By utilizing financial data, you will help make better decisions. Your responsibilities include:
- Building strong relationships with Institutional Solutions business partners and Finance experts
- Analyzing sales, cash flows, costs, and other financial drivers to improve results
- Developing business driver assumptions with business partners
- Controlling spending and influencing costs
- Using data to gain insights into earnings and inform sales planning
- Collaborating with the Controller's team to improve accuracy of reported results
- Working with FP&A on forecasting and management reporting
- Providing executive-level commentary on business results and drivers
The Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of financial support experience in a corporate environment
The Ideal Qualifications
- Experience with insurance products and financial reporting requirements
- Actuarial designations (ASA, FSA, etc.)
- Ability to analyze and communicate business activity using data and information
- Curiosity to continue learning and expanding knowledge
- Ability to influence decision-making using financial information
- Excellent communication skills
- High level of accountability, agility, and business acumen
