Schedule: 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off
Job Description: We are currently looking for a Systems Safety Avionics Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for defining system requirements, analyzing designs, assessing test data, reviewing manuals, and conducting systems safety analysis. Good communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential. Your contributions will directly impact the success of the company.
Essential Functions: - Support Design Engineering, Product Engineering, and Quality Engineering - Conduct various safety analysis activities such as hazard assessments and system safety assessments - Analyze system designs to identify potential failure modes and assess risks - Define safety requirements and ensure their validation and verification - Interact with customers and provide support - Coordinate and oversee projects - Familiarity with safety analysis tools - Estimate project efforts - Collaborate with various teams and departments - Assist in maintaining and developing engineering processes
Qualifications: - Strong knowledge in the field with specialty within discipline - Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and minimum 4 years of relevant experience, or 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree - 6+ years of professional experience, preferably in the avionics industry - Experience in writing system requirements and validation procedures - Knowledge of safety processes and standards - Familiarity with specific avionics processes - Must be a US Citizen
Preferred Additional Skills: - Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline - Experience with surveillance products or flight data recorders - Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills - Ability to take initiative and be resourceful - Fosters creativity and innovation - Self-motivated with good communication skills - Able to work independently with minimal supervision
