Position Summary: Penske Logistics is seeking a Load Planner to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is motivated, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a customer-focused environment. The Load Planner will coordinate all aspects of load planning and freight movement, utilizing analytical and computer skills. Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Salary: $46,000 - $59,000 per year Major Responsibilities: - Process customer orders, plan and optimize shipments, and coordinate with third-party carriers - Update Transportation Management System with current shipment information - Provide instructions to customers and colleagues via phone and email - Track shipments, troubleshoot operational issues, and report to management and customers - Maintain daily logs and trackers - Negotiate rates with carriers - Identify cost-saving opportunities for customers - Coordinate with carriers to ensure timely delivery - Investigate load exceptions - Make informed financial decisions - Handle other assigned projects and tasks Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain Management (preferred) - Minimum of two years of experience in Transportation or Supply Chain (preferred) - Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook - Strong customer focus - Ability to build professional relationships with customers and colleagues - Flexibility to adapt in a dynamic environment - Strong organizational and communication skills - Willingness to learn and operate various computer systems - Ability to work different shifts as needed - Regular, full attendance is required - Willingness to travel, undergo a background investigation and drug screening Physical Requirements: - Reading, verbal and written communication, information analysis, and understanding instructions - Physical activities may include standing, walking, sitting, and handling objects - Occasional lifting or moving up to 25lbs/12kg - Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment Penske is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
