Outbound-Operations Manager (2nd Shift)

Location: Bethlehem, PA

McKesson is seeking a motivated and inspirational leader for the role of Outbound Operations Manager at our distribution center in Bethlehem, PA. Our largest facility, spread across 500,000 sq. ft., serves as the heart of the McKesson Medical-Surgical network. With a team of over 500 members, we are dedicated to supporting our business and delivering exceptional service.

Our advanced technologies, such as automated induction, workflow management systems, pick to light, and automated storage retrieval systems, assist in achieving these goals. You will have access to all the necessary tools and resources to manage a highly successful team. Initial travel to other high volume distribution centers will be required to enhance your knowledge as we plan for the Bethlehem go live.

Shift hours: 11 am to finish

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bring 10 plus years of experience in a distribution and/or operations environment
  • Lead large teams across multiple shifts in a 24/7 setting
  • Background in automation and conveyance management systems
  • Proficient in performance metrics and process improvement
  • Strong financial and data acumen, with the ability to drive results through analysis
  • Create employee engagement and forge working relationships internally and externally
  • Manage, train, and develop supervisors and associates through communication and mentoring
  • Motivate others and foster a positive, organized, and clean work environment dedicated to our team and customers
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer care, reduce costs, improve service, and boost productivity

Required Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of all departments within a distribution center and their interdependencies
  • Experience with automation and workflow management systems (JD Edwards)
  • Passionate about continuous improvement and demonstrated success in leading and influencing team members
  • A positive change leader with strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to see the bigger picture
  • Familiarity with Labor Management System
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Effective verbal and written communication, including presentation skills

Education:

4-year degree in a related field or equivalent experience

Minimum Requirements:

10+ years of operational and managerial experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform general office tasks
  • Standing, sitting, and walking in a warehouse environment
  • Capacity to carry and operate a laptop
  • Flexibility to work varied hours in a 24/7 operational warehouse setting

Competitive Compensation Package

As part of our Total Rewards, we proudly provide a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This package is determined based on factors like performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, we may offer other forms of compensation, such as annual bonuses or long-term incentive opportunities.

Our Base Pay Range for this Position:

$85,100 - $141,800
