What You Will Do:
Guidehouse is looking for a Data Analyst to support the Department of State in the National Security field. The candidate will assist various threat teams, such as those focusing on China, Iran, Russia, Counterterrorism, and emerging threats. Your responsibilities will include planning projects, analyzing large amounts of data from different sources, and creating analytical models and data visualizations. It is important to have strong problem-solving skills, knowledge of statistical analysis, and the ability to present technical solutions to non-technical individuals in a clear and effective manner.
Plan and manage data-driven projects and metrics
Produce written memos that explain methodologies, analyze models, and discuss limitations
Create user-friendly data visualizations using large datasets and Tableau dashboards
Collect, transform, clean, and validate data from multiple sources
Automate data collection, transformation, cleaning, and validation processes
Maintain data governance documentation and tools
Analyze and report implementing partner data and create supporting tools and resources
What You Will Need:
An ACTIVE and CURRENT TOP SECRET federal security clearance
Bachelor’s Degree
At least five (5) years of experience working with data
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Advanced degree in information science, data science, sociology, political science, or related field
At least three (3) years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role
At least three (3) years of project management experience in data-focused projects
At least three (3) years of consulting or client-facing experience
At least three (3) years of experience with Tableau dashboards
Excellent organizational and written communication skills
Knowledge of statistical techniques (e.g. regression, ANOVA, cluster analysis, etc.)
Experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP)
Experience working with the Department of State
