What You Will Do:
We are looking for an Admissions Coordinator who will be responsible for obtaining and verifying personal information, insurance benefits, and eligibility. You will ensure accurate billing and clinical information by assigning the correct medical record and account number. In this role, you will also provide exceptional customer service to patients and perform any other assigned duties.
Location: Gardendale ER
Shift: Evenings, 2:30pm - 11:00pm and 1 shift every other weekend
Part time or full time: Full time
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring accurate data entry
- Providing excellent customer service
- Gathering complete and accurate demographic and financial information from various sources
- Obtaining required signatures on legal consents and insurance forms
- Performing pre-certification, credit referrals, or deposit collections
- Reviewing physician's orders for completeness
- Maintaining knowledge of insurance rules and regulations
- Answering telephone calls and assisting callers
- Completing all shift duties in a timely and accurate manner
- Complying with all safety regulations and procedures
What You Will Need:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of experience in a hospital setting, medical office, or heavy customer service environment
What Would Be Nice To Have:
- Experience with patient registration
- Experience with medical insurances
- Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute
- Familiarity with medical terminology
