About the team:
The Associate Experience Technology Team is a fast-paced and passionate organization responsible for transforming the Associate Experience across Capital One. We design and deliver software solutions across various technology platforms, including enterprise SaaS applications, OS Platforms, Web and Mobile applications, and custom-built enterprise solutions.
As a Director of Technical Program Management (TPM) on Capital One's Enterprise product & platform organization, we're looking for someone who can help us build solid platforms on mobile and web surfaces that will provide incredible experiences for Capital One customers. These platforms serve as the foundation for various lines of businesses within Capital One, such as credit cards, retail banking, and auto finance, to build delightful experiences for our customers.
In addition to the technical program, you will also work to expand the TPM discipline within the team, leveraging your industry knowledge and experience to teach the organization about the value of a great TPM.
Our TPM Directors have:
- Strong technical backgrounds, ideally with experience in building scalable platforms, products, or services
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
- Excellent problem-solving and influencing skills
- A quantitative approach to problem-solving and a focus on holistic solutions
- Experience as a TPM leader, growing and developing a team of TPMs and building the foundation for the TPM practice
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts and drive well-educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representatives
- Deep focus on execution, accountability, and results
- Exceptional cross-team collaboration skills, able to work across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to get the job done
- Highly tuned emotional intelligence, a good listener, and a deep empathy for teams and partners
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing
- 3+ years of experience in building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud computing services/architecture, preferably using AWS
- 3+ years of experience building highly scalable mobile products & platforms
- 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery
- 3+ years of experience delivering large and complex programs, owning the business or technical vision, collaborating with large cross-functional teams, securing commitments on deliverables, and unblocking teams to achieve business impact
- Experience in building systems & solutions within a highly regulated environment
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering)
- MBA or Master's Degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering) or equivalent experience

Salary Information:
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $228,500 - $260,800 for Director, Technical Program Management
San Francisco, California (Hybrid On-Site): $242,100 - $276,300 for Director, Technical Program Management
Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on agreed-upon hours.
