As a Manager Software Engineer at Capital One, you will have the opportunity to drive a major transformation within our company.

About The Team:

Join our Enterprise Model Platform (EMP) SRE team, responsible for building, maintaining, and governing the model development Kubernetes fleet. We are the foundation of the ML platform at Capital One, working on the Kubernetes control plane, workers, storage, addons, custom operators, and applications within each cluster.

What You'll Do:

• Lead a team of developers and oversee diverse technology projects, utilizing your experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems to meet regulatory needs
• Stay up to date with tech trends, experiment with new technologies, and participate in internal and external tech communities
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans financially
• Utilize various programming languages, open-source frameworks, container orchestration services, and AWS tools

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum 6 years of experience in software engineering
• Minimum 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
• Minimum 2 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree
• 7+ years of experience in one or more of the following: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go
• 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service
• 4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks
• 5+ years of people management experience
• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices

About Compensation:

The salary range for this role in McLean, Virginia is $197,400 - $225,300 for Manager, Software Engineering.
