As a Lead Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our Enterprise Data team, providing technical leadership for data management applications that support highly sensitive and crucial regulatory processes. What You'll Do: - Lead a diverse portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers experienced in distributed microservices and full stack systems. - Stay up-to-date with tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, and actively participate in internal and external technology communities. Mentor other members of the engineering community. - Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust, cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans financially. - Utilize programming languages like Python and Go, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services. - Lead the technical design and implementation for the team, using technologies such as Python, Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, PostgreSQL, Presto SQL, and various Amazon Web Services (AWS) tools. Your Responsibilities: - Administer multiple schemas in multiple datasets, ensuring best practices and regulatory compliance. - Maintain documentation in Google Sheets and Confluence. - Mentor team members, provide guidance on technical decisions, and resolve technical issues. - Assist in verifying accuracy and completeness of third party data. - Evaluate and onboard new data while removing old data. - Monitor day-to-day operations to ensure seamless task fulfillment. - Maintain compliance and vulnerability remediation for all packages and components. - Develop and review high-level and functional designs for new features. - Work with other teams to ensure timely completion, testing, and deployment. - Communicate successes, failures, and potential failures to all stakeholders. Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree. - At least 6 years of experience in software engineering. - At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud). Preferred Qualifications: - Master's Degree. - 6+ years of experience with Python. - 3+ years of experience with AWS. - 2+ years of experience with Apache Airflow. - 2+ years of experience with Apache Spark. - 2+ years of experience with Presto or Snowflake. - 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks. - 1+ years of people management experience. - 2+ years of experience in Agile practices. Salary Information: - New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $197,400 - $225,300 for Lead Software Engineer. - Candidates hired for other locations will be subject to pay range associated with that location.
