The Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated and dedicated Compliance Director – Human Resources to support and oversee our HR programs. In this role, you will ensure that our business products, services, and processes comply with regulatory requirements. You will work closely with the business and key stakeholders to foster a strong culture of compliance and protect the interests of USAA and its members. Additionally, you will manage a team to develop and implement strategic solutions for minimizing operational compliance risk.
We offer a flexible work environment where you will be required to be in the office four days a week. This position can be based in several locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA, or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is available.
What You'll Do:
- Provide oversight and manage changes in the regulatory environment.
- Oversee compliance risk management activities to meet enterprise compliance standards.
- Review and assess state and federal regulatory compliance requirements, analyzing business impact and recommending compliance actions.
- Identify regulatory solutions for CoSA projects and initiatives.
- Monitor and manage regulatory requirements and reporting.
- Build and maintain relationships with industry and regulatory authorities.
- Lead and manage a team to ensure departmental goals are met.
What You Have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 8 or more years of risk, compliance, or audit experience.
- 3 years of direct team lead or management experience.
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment.
- Expert knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
What Sets You Apart:
- 6-10 years of experience in Human Resources, with knowledge in talent, benefits, compensation, etc.
- Compliance experience in HR, including advising, project participation, monitoring, or testing.
- Additional HR-related degree or designation.
- Experience in HR within a large financial institution.
