Job Description

Supernal is working on creating innovative solutions for transportation that will make cities more accessible and inclusive. We are designing an electric aircraft that can take off and land vertically, making it easier for people to travel to their desired destinations. We combine research in autonomy, robotics, aviation, and services to create a new kind of transportation for communities around the world. What we do:

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for making sure our products are safe to fly and meet production requirements. This requires working with other team members and experts throughout the entire product development journey. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will focus on building and testing aircraft components, with an emphasis on airframes and composite/metallic materials.

This position requires on-site work 5 days a week.

What you can do:
  • Follow build plans based on program milestones and risks
  • Create instructions for building and testing flight-worthy components and systems
  • Support the work centers by providing necessary equipment and fixtures
  • Assist with quality assurance tasks like inspection and testing
  • Help with equipment procurement needed for functional testing
  • Collaborate with technicians and experts to build and test flight-worthy products
  • Advocate for the build team's goals with other departments and suppliers
  • Provide guidelines for manufacturing design to ensure success across the organization
  • Prioritize build projects according to product and technology roadmap
  • Use the expertise of technology partners to speed up product development
  • Create certification plans for new manufacturing technologies
  • Support the fabrication of test and demonstration articles
  • Develop manufacturing practices and guidelines
  • Assist other teams with design, systems architecture, and integration
  • Review and approve work instructions and specifications from suppliers
  • Contribute to the development of the aircraft maintenance manual
  • Some domestic and international travel may be required (up to 25%)
  • Other duties as assigned
What you can contribute:
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Up to three (3) years of experience in urban air mobility, aviation, or automotive industries (a combination of education and experience is also considered)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Quick learner and able to apply new concepts
  • Strong collaboration skills and can work well in cross-functional teams
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good listening and comprehension skills
  • Well-organized and skilled in planning and coordination

  • Acts with integrity, professionalism, and maintains confidentiality
You may also have:
  • Experience with aerospace vehicle systems and powertrain preferred
  • Experience with airframe assemblies and composite/metallic components preferred
  • Experience working with integrated product teams or systems of systems framework preferred
  • Experience designing and developing flight-worthy products preferred
  • Experience in aviation certification environment preferred
  • Experience with development programs preferred
  • Experience in prototyping environments preferred
  • Experience with project management preferred
  • LEAN/Six Sigma experience and qualifications preferred
  • Proficient with model-based definition, drafting, and GD&T standards preferred

The base pay offered for this position may vary depending on skills, experience, knowledge, and location. It is important to note that this position is eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.

The pay range for this position is:
$99,840 $130,000 USD
