Position Purpose: Support the medical and psychosocial aspects of utilization and coordinated care.
- Request authorization for necessary medical services. Help with customer service tasks and research claims inquiries.
- Assist members in complying with medical guidelines by verifying appointments and obtaining lab results. Keep track of inpatient numbers.
- Determine eligibility and benefits for members. Refer members without a primary care physician to Member Services. Prioritize and assess members for case management.
- Collaborate with community organizations to coordinate services. Attend outreach meetings to represent the plan. Provide routine letters and educational materials to members.
- Enter assessments and authorizations into our system.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. 2-3 years of experience in a managed care setting, medical office, or facility with demonstrated experience in medical administration duties. Knowledge of customer service, utilization review, or claims processing in a managed care environment, as well as basic computer skills and medical terminology knowledge.
For Oklahoma Medicaid and Children's Specialty contract: Bachelor's Degree in nursing, psychology, social work, or a related field and at least one (1) year of professional experience in the human services field serving individuals in Medicaid and/or Foster Care.
