About the role:The Senior LVN plays a supportive role to the lead LVN and/or department leadership. Responsibilities include providing direct patient care, coordinating patient care workflows, managing staffing needs, and collaborating with clinical staff, physicians, and other members of the medical team to deliver safe and efficient patient-centered care.
Job duties and responsibilities:- Provide orientation and training for new clinical staff.
- Conduct departmental orientation and ensure new employees meet departmental requirements.
- Maintain a functional work environment, including quality assurance, regulatory compliance, supply inventory, and housekeeping.
- Administer prescribed medications, injections, or IV medications following standard procedures and provider advice.
- Provide basic patient care and treatments such as taking vitals, performing diagnostic tests, phlebotomy, and specimen collection as directed by the provider.
- Observe patients, document changes in condition, and report to the provider for necessary care instructions.
- Answer patient and physician messages with input from the provider.
- Evaluate the skills and performance of Medical Assistants using designated evaluation tools.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance measures in the clinical environment.
- Organize and ensure proper coverage for clinical team to support providers and deliver safe patient care.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current and valid California LVN License.
- IV/Phlebotomy certification must be acquired within one year of hire date.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association and/or the American Red Cross.
- Three (3) years of experience required.
- OB/GYN experience highly preferred.
