About the Role: Registered Nurse for Pediatrics

As a Registered Nurse for Pediatrics, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized care to pediatric patients with acute, chronic, and surgical health conditions. Working closely with an interdisciplinary team, you will deliver personalized and family-centered care to ensure the comfort, safety, and well-being of our young patients. You will also have opportunities to contribute to disease prevention, patient education, and the implementation of treatment plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care services, documenting them accurately and ensuring patient safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection.
  • Offer patient education on disease prevention and restorative measures.
  • Administer medications and therapeutic agents as necessary for treatment and care plans.
  • Perform skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy, and initiate peripheral venous access.
  • Observe and assess signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications/treatments, and general physical condition to take appropriate action in emergency situations.
  • Create and implement individualized patient care plans based on observations and standardized procedures.
  • Recognize and address patient safety concerns, considering diverse needs such as cultural, spiritual, age, psychosocial, communication, gender, sexual orientation, economic, education, family, and condition-related factors.
Requirements:

Education:

  • Associate Degree/College Diploma (required)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred)

License/Certifications:

  • California State RN License (upon hire)
  • BCLS Certification (upon hire)
  • ANCC Specialty Certification strongly recommended after 2 years in specialty (Pediatrics preferred)

Experience:

Experience working in an outpatient clinical setting (preferred)
