What Will You Be Doing?

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Trauma Emergency General Surgery Service is responsible for providing expert care to trauma patients across the continuum of care. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will collaborate with physicians, supervise clinical practice, conduct research, provide education, and manage patient care. Your practice will incorporate independent decision-making and teamwork to ensure the best outcomes for patients of all ages.

• Work closely with the medical director and chief nursing officer as part of the medical team.
• Follow the Nurse Practitioner Standardized Procedures according to the California code of regulations.
• Provide individualized care that aligns with nursing and patient care standards, safety protocols, and organizational policies.
• Show sensitivity and attentiveness to the specific needs and developmental milestones of different age groups.

Experience Requirements:

• At least 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in trauma and acute care surgery.
• 3+ years of nursing experience, preferred.

Educational/Licensure/Certifications Requirements:

• Master of Nursing Degree
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing
• Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License
• National Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner
• Current DEA license and Furnishing Number or eligibility to obtain
• Current ACLS certification required
