Summary of Essential Duties: - Establish a plan of care, set goals, determine priorities, and provide care within established standards of practice. - Provide direct and indirect patient care services in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients. - Educate patients on disease prevention and restorative measures. - Administer medications and therapeutic agents as needed. - Perform skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy, and initiate peripheral venous access. - Observe and monitor signs, symptoms, behaviors, and physical condition of patients. - Conduct assessments and implement individualized patient care plans. - Provide care to special patient populations and patients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Education: - Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN or higher preferred. License/Certification: - Current California State RN License required. - American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS and NRP certifications required. - Specialty Certification required or willing to obtain within 1 year from start date for consideration as a Clinical Nurse III; otherwise, will be considered for Clinical Nurse II level. Experience: - Minimum 3 years of recent acute RN experience in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. - Applicants with 1+ years of experience will be considered for Clinical Nurse II level.
