As a Registered Nurse on 5South, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to a specialized patient population. Your duties will include:

• Delivering direct and indirect patient care services, prioritizing patient safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection
• Conducting patient education on disease prevention and restorative measures
• Administering medications and therapeutic agents as prescribed
• Performing skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy, and initiating peripheral venous access
• Observing and assessing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications/treatments, and general physical condition
• Developing and implementing individualized patient care plans based on observations and standardized procedures
• Adapting care to address the unique needs of diverse patient populations, including those with cultural, spiritual, age, psychosocial, communication, gender, sexual orientation, economic, education, family, and condition needs

Educational Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN or higher preferred.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

• Current California State RN License required
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
• For RN III: Specialty Certification preferred (external applicants may acquire within one year of hire)

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years recent acute RN experience in specialty. Note: (minimum 1 year recent acute RN experience will be considered for Registered Nurse II)
• Proven understanding of applicable Standards of Practice.
• Proven dedication to customer service and ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues.
