Work Location: 306 Industrial Park Ave, Rothschild Main Responsibilities: - Ensure vehicles are well-maintained and safe for customers. - Perform preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment in a timely manner and with minimal supervision. - Troubleshoot and repair major components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials, including replacing complete assemblies and fuel system components. - Maintain a clean and safe work area. - Utilize Penske's tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics. - Participate in Penske's technician training to learn new skills. - Complete other assigned projects and tasks as directed by your supervisor. Qualifications: - 6 years of practical experience in truck and tractor-trailer maintenance. - High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair is a plus. - Specialized training and experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASE Certification, and 608/609 certifications are preferred. - Proficiency in using all necessary tools of the trade, including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, and hand and power tools. - Valid driver's license required, CDL preferred. - Problem-solving skills. - Excellent customer service and communication abilities. - Ability to work well as part of a team. - Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled conditions. - Basic computer skills. - Willingness to adhere to specific instructions, guidelines, and safety regulations established by Penske management. - Ability to perform all work while adhering to DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies, including the use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and best safety practices. - Regular and predictable attendance is essential. - Willingness to travel as required within the district, work assigned schedule, complete Penske employment application, pass background screening (including criminal, employment, and education checks), and pass drug screening. - This position requires constant alertness, a safety-conscious attitude, and working in a safe manner.
