What You'll Bring
  • Minimum 3+ years of paid professional tax preparation experience, using professional tax preparation software
  • Preparation of at least 125 tax returns per tax season for the past 3 years
  • Experience in preparing a wide range of federal and provincial returns for individuals, including students, pensioners, self-employed individuals, rental property owners, investors, and those with foreign income
  • Ability to prepare and file comprehensive customer personal returns, covering employment, self-employment, rental income, investments, T1135, foreign income, and all credits and deductions
  • Sound knowledge of tax laws and concepts, exceptional critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable with Windows and mobile platforms, as well as G-suite applications (such as Docs and Sheets)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible availability and schedule
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French (reading, writing, and speaking) is considered an asset
  • Experience in preparing Quebec tax (TP1) returns is considered an asset
  • Experience in providing support in a contact center environment is considered an asset
How You Will Lead
  • Offer tax guidance for personal tax returns in a remote, seasonal, and customer-facing role
  • Collaborate with customers to prepare or review their tax return, ensuring compliance and accuracy by providing tax guidance and/or tax preparation services
  • Research and address tax-related questions, responding directly to customers through written and oral communication
  • Provide a Full Service experience by preparing, reviewing, and filing customers' returns with the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) or assisting customers in preparing their own tax returns with advice, tax preparation support, and guidance on required documents for the CRA
  • Stay up-to-date with tax regulations to provide accurate advice on maximizing customers' tax returns
  • Create exceptional customer interactions and experiences that instill confidence, using empathy, deep tax knowledge, and expertise
  • Proactively find and deliver the right solutions for each customer, utilizing government websites, professional resources, and team expertise, while translating complex concepts into everyday language
  • Apply established practices, procedures, and company policies to troubleshoot and resolve customer inquiries
