Tell me about the role:

The Senior LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) provides support to the department lead LVN and/or department leadership. They deliver direct patient care, coordinate patient care workflows, and monitor staffing to ensure efficient operations. The senior LVN works collaboratively with the medical team to deliver safe and patient-centered care.

Job duties and responsibilities:
  • Provide orientation and training for new clinical staff.
  • Conduct departmental orientation and ensure onboarding measures are met.
  • Maintain a functional work environment, including quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and supplies.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Provide basic patient care and perform diagnostic tests.
  • Monitor patient condition and report any changes to the provider.
  • Answer patient and physician incoming messages.
  • Review and evaluate MA skills and performance.
  • Perform quality assurance measures to maintain compliance.
  • Coordinate clinical team coverage to support providers and deliver safe patient care.
Education:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
License/Certification:
  • Current and valid California LVN License
  • IV/Phlebotomy Certified (must acquire within one year of hire date)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association and/or the American Red Cross
Experience:
  • Three (3) years of experience required
  • OB/GYN experience highly preferred
