In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with our outstanding faculty and physicians, gaining deep insights and expertise across all specialty areas, including transplantation, stem cell therapy, congenital heart disease, women's heart health, valve disorders, arrhythmia, and hypertension.

Summary of Essential Duties:
  • Perform a variety of direct patient care activities specific to the unit and the needs of the patient population
  • Conduct patient assessments, triage patient concerns, and provide clinical education for pre-ops and disease management
  • Manage anticoagulation, coordinate patient care, and oversee the overall management of the ambulatory cardiac clinic
  • Handle prior authorizations and triage phone calls from patients, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers
  • Assess the ability of patients of different age groups to follow instructions and address specific safety concerns related to age
  • Implement additional measures to ensure a safe environment for patients

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

Licenses:

  • Must possess a valid California nursing license.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
  • Specialty certification is strongly preferred within one year of hire for external candidates at the Clinical Nurse III level.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent acute RN experience.
  • At least 3 years of acute care nursing experience is desired.
  • Experience in cardiology, cardiac and vascular surgery is highly preferred.

  • Manual finger dexterity and fine motor skills with eye-hand coordination
  • Frequent standing, walking, twisting, bending, flexing, extending, and stretching
  • Occasional sitting, gripping/grasping, reaching below shoulder level, reaching above shoulder level, kneeling, and squatting
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull at least 100 pounds, and carry up to 25 pounds
