About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Lead Engineer to contribute to the development and maintenance of APIs and SDKs. These tools will allow users to train, fine-tune, and access AI models at scale, utilizing our public cloud infrastructure. Collaborating with our Enterprise AI team and world-class AI engineers and researchers, you will design and implement key API products and services that power real-time customer-facing applications. Your projects may include architecting core APIs and SDKs, designing APIs for performance and ease of use, developing application-specific interfaces, enabling users to build new AI capabilities, and ensuring AI safety and guardrails in the API layer. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field - At least 8 years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing techniques - At least 4 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java - At least 3 years of experience building, scaling, and optimizing training and inferencing APIs for deep neural networks Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with building large-scale AI products or platforms for NLP, speech, computer vision, or recommendation systems serving millions of users - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity and competing priorities - Experience collaborating with researchers and engineers to improve product experiences and foundational capabilities - Familiarity with deploying large neural network models in demanding production environments - Knowledge of API security, observability, cloud access control, and privacy best practices Salary Information: - New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $230,100 - $262,700 for Sr. Lead Machine Learning Engineer - San Francisco, California (Hybrid On-Site): $243,800 - $278,200 for Sr. Lead Machine Learning Engineer - Remote (Regardless of Location): $195,000 - $222,600 for Sr. Lead Machine Learning Engineer Please note that salaries for part-time roles will be adjusted based on agreed-upon hours.
