Our yearlong programs focus on quality care, leadership development, financial strength, and data analysis in clinics that serve our city's underserved population. We are working with more than two-thirds of the community clinics in our service area to develop their capabilities, enabling them to better respond to the complex needs of patients in a changing healthcare landscape.

Summary of Duties:

• Ensure the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients
• Provide care and patient education on disease prevention and restorative measures
• Administer medications and therapeutic agents vital to implementing treatment, disease prevention, or rehabilitation plans
• Perform skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy, and other procedures as required
• Observe signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications and treatments, and general behavior and physical condition of patients
• Implement appropriate reporting, referrals, and care
• Provide care to diverse patient populations, including those with special needs and varying cultural backgrounds

Educational Requirements:

• Associate Degree or College Diploma in Nursing
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (state-accredited program) preferred

Licenses:

• RN State License (California State RN License upon hire)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required, unless a higher level of certification is required
• ANCC Specialty Certification (Specialty Certification within 1 year)
• Other Competencies as required by your specialty unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, fetal heart monitoring) within 1 year

Experience:

• 3 years of relevant acute care experience in your area of specialty
• Must be a Clinical Nurse II at CSMC for at least one year to be promoted within the clinical ladder

Physical Demands:

• Standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing up to 75 lbs., pulling up to 75 lbs.
• Balancing, stooping, eye/hand/foot coordination, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing
