Behavioral Health UnitPosition: Nurse Manager
Full Time Days (Exempt)
40 hours/week, Monday to Friday
Summary:
The nurse manager plays a crucial role in creating safe and healthy environments that support the work of the health care team and enhance patient engagement. They are responsible for fostering a professional environment and promoting a culture where interdisciplinary team members contribute to optimal patient outcomes and professional growth. Nurse managers have 24-hour accountability and oversee a direct care unit or units, serving as a vital link between the administrative strategic plan and patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Financial management related to the unit's budget and revenue.
- Human resource management.
- Performance improvement in areas such as metrics, quality, patient safety, patient/staff engagement, regulatory compliance, and workplace safety.
- Technology management as it pertains to patient care and nursing practice.
- Strategic leadership to align unit vision with organizational vision through change management, collaboration, and shared decision making.
- Leadership in human resources including performance management, staff development, and staff retention strategies.
- Relationship management and influencing behaviors to promote professional development and manage situations effectively.
- Promotion of diversity in staffing and patient care.
- Personal and professional accountability.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Experience working with all levels within an organization.
- Strong leadership skills, including communication, organization, time management, coping, motivation, problem solving, autonomy, and teamwork.
- Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software. Familiarity with budgeting and electronic timekeeping software is preferred.
- Education: Master’s degree required; MSN preferred.
- Certification: Valid RN license and Basic Life Support required.
- Relevant experience: Five years preferred.
- Supervisory experience: Two years preferred.
